Sunday Pamper Routine

I don't know about you but I love nothing more than having a solid Sunday routine that I can look forward to and feel relaxed when following. I tend to break up my Sunday into 4 elements: mind, skin, body & hair and home comforts. Everyone needs a day during the week or even just an hour where they can do something for them and zone out from the outside world. So, I thought I would share with you my Sunday and hopefully inspire some of you to implement these rituals into your routine.

Mind:

Plan my Week - If you've been reading my blog for a little while, you will know that I love to sit down at the end of the week and plan the following week. Just something about mapping out your to do's, appointments and tasks for the week ahead is just so motivating and inspiring to me. If you want to check out some of my previous planning posts check out the related post section in this post.

Watching Motivational YouTube Videos - I like to save a lot of videos that have been published throughout the week and store them until Sunday where I factor in the time to sit down and fully consume them. I like to watch motivational videos around morning routines, day in the lives, running vlogs, planning routines etc. If these types of videos aren't your jam then catch up on some Netflix or find a new film to watch - anything visual that you can switch your mind off to.

Read - I do love to read and a few months ago I really got into reading and read 4 books in 4 weeks! But true be told, I have fallen off the bandwagon slightly. I haven't read for a while but I am determined to factor this into my Sunday routine again. Even if it is for 30 minutes. There is something so relaxing and magical about reading a fiction book and being transported into another world. For those of you who don't read, I would suggest giving it a go with either fiction or non-fiction - whatever takes your fancy!

Exercise - I love to use Sunday as my long run day. You may know, if you follow me, that I am training for a marathon this year so I love to use Sunday as a good opportunity to get my long run in and enjoy the scenery and not feel pressured for being back for a certain time. If running isn't your thing then why not try yoga, pilates, home workout, a walk etc. Anything to keep your body moving, even if it is just for 10 minutes

Skin Care:

In this section, I want to talk you through each step that I complete when having a little pamper session. I have included links to everything I mention below and I have also given a little description as to why I like to use these products. I have done the same for the Body & Hair section also.

Face Wash - The Body Shop Vitamin E Gentle Facial Wash - I love this face wash. It makes my skin feel so soft and as though it is cleaning my skin. The scent of this face wash as well is so lovely - light and floral.

Exfoliator - St Ives Apricot Face Scrub - I have used this for a couple of years on and off and previously I have found this scrub to be quite harsh on my skin. However, now I am exercising a lot more which means I am sweating a lot more! I have found this scrub to be really effective at clearing my skin and helping it stay smooth.

Pore Strip - Biore Charcoal Pore Strip - I look forward to doing one of these every Sunday. They're so satisfying when you peel them off your nose and see how clean your skin is after using one - anyone else or just me?!

Face Mask - The Body Shop Charcoal Mask - Initially I got a little sample pot of this mask to see what it would be like. When I first tried it I absolutely loved it. It is probably the only mask that I have tried where I can feel an effect from using it. When putting on my skin, it felt a bit tingly but to me that is a good sign that it is working. It can be hard to get off but to me that suggests that it's doing the job! So if you're looking for a face mask that offers a similar experience to a mask that you would get in a spa then I would highly recommend!

Moisturiser - The Body Shop Vitamin E Night Cream - I promise this blog post isn't sponsored by The Body Shop although if you do want to sponsor me Body Shop then I would love to accept! ;) I got this cream as part of a set along with the day cream and the face wash mentioned above. I much prefer the night cream in comparison to the day cream as I feel the night cream gives a nicer finish and is more hydrating. Whereas the day cream can leave a shiny residue on your face and is a little more runny in consistency.

Body & Hair:

A pamper routine isn't complete without a shower or bath to soak your thoughts into and feel all pampered. Check out below what I do to feel extra pampered.

Shampoo - The Body Shop Banana Shampoo - as I have blonde highlights running through my hair I would like to try and keep the colour as much as possible. I find this shampoo does just that. Not only does it keep the colour I want in my hair, in my hair, it also smells gorgeous!

Hair Mask - The Body Shop Banana Hair Mask - to accompany the shampoo I thought I would go all in with the matching hair mask because, well, why not?! I have only been using this mask for a couple of weeks but the results I have experienced from it so far is amazing! My hair feels super soft when I am washing it out and this texture continues through even when it has dried.

Body Wash - The Body Shop Almond Milk and Honey - using a body wash every time you have a shower is fairly common but I like to use a indulgent one to make it feel like a little bit more of a treat - if that makes any sense?! The Body Shop have such good scents and I love pretty much their whole collection of body wash however my favourites are the more creamy formulas rather than the gels as I feel they add a little bit more moisture into my skin.

Body Scrub - The Body Shop Coconut - whilst I am waiting for my hair mask to set in, I exfoliate my legs and arms to remove any skin cells and leave a softer finish ready for when I moisturise. I like this exfoliator as the consistency is smooth but the exfoliator beads in the scrub are highly effective making for a great scrub.

Moisturise - Garnier Body Repair - I bet you're surprised to see another brand in this post!! I love using this moisturiser as it sets into the skin quickly and easily. It does leave a little bit of a sticky residue once rubbed in however this soon goes and leaves your skin feeling soft and moisturised.

Moisturise - Soap and Glory Dry Skin Balm - to moisturise the more dryer areas I like to use this product. It is a creamy product that works wonders on your elbows, knees and anywhere else where you have a little bit of dry skin. It sets into the skin quickly and doesn't leave a residue on your skin.

Home Comforts:

Lastly, I like to finish a Sunday doing the following things:

- Putting on a Fresh Pair of PJ's

- Getting my Slippers on

- Making myself a cup of tea

- Eating some comforting snacks e.g. pretzels :')

I hope you have enjoyed me taking you through my Sunday routine! Let me know in the comments what you do to chill out and relax throughout the week
